It's not so easy to leave Palenque (town)

Luka, the tall 21-year old from Mucich, Germany, left the hostel at 7 AM for the 8 AM bus to Chetumal but the bus was filled so he has to wait another day. He's a professional landscape gardener who's traveling the world for one and a half years.
When I tried to buy my ticket, for a bus leaving every hour, to the border I was told the next bus wouldn't leave for three hours and would only take me part way. But the kindly woman told me that a differnt bus company two blocks away could take me the entire distance and would leave earlier. This was an unexpected piece of news because most bus companies will not tell prospective customers about competitors.
So, after having lunch at my favorite taqueria and wandering the streets for two hours, I learned that my new bus company would not leave for another hour (maybe). It's raining heavily, and my raincoat keeps me too warm, and as wet as if I wasn't wearing it, I'll just get wet. But, I can finally put to use the expensive GoreTex hat I reluctantly bought to keep the jungle worms off my head. Really.
I'm excited to see how this day ends.
