Oaxaca is a party city

For 25 years, the city of Oaxaca, Mexico, has been my favorite city south of the US border, and maybe even north of it. It's filled with art, music, performance, ranging from contemporary to classical as well as many parks, museums and galleries. The weather is always comfortable without humidity although summer months bring sporadic rain. In the city and surrounding communities, skilled artisans create fine works of jewelry, pottery, carpets, sculpture and intricately painted wooden figures. The fine restaurants are too many to count and the city is very walkable and safe.
